YUM Website and Publication Permission Form Stipulations

Youth Unshackled Ministries (YUM) consists of a supportive, creative, and encouraging Christian community. In this essay challenge, we are seeking to provide a platform for our youth to develop their unique voice and enhance their writing skills.   

Essay Submission Guidelines 

This challenge is restricted to writers who are between 12-18 years old,  and all 2024 high school seniors who may be 18+.

All essays must be accompanied by a signed parent/guardian permission form to: 

• Be assessed by our judges
• Be an eligible recipient the achieved awards 
• Provide YUM with permission to display their child/ guardian's essay on the YUM website

YUM Summer 2024 CHALLENGE PERMISSION FORM

I, the undersigned, have read YUM’s posting guidelines. permit my child to participate in the YUM Summer 2024 Writing Challenge AND allow my child’s work to be submitted to YUM for potential publication on YUM’s website. I understand that the only personal information that would be made public is my child’s name, grade, age, and hometown. I also understand that it is my responsibility as a parent to ensure that my child is behaving respectfully and exercising good judgment to ensure their safety. I also understand that it is my parental responsibility and my child’s responsibility to notify YUM if the child has submitted a plagiarized essay.
